How far can an event reach?

Light Cone of Consciousness

This candle is one event, warm at the wick and quiet beyond it. The ray is leaving. What can it still meet?

A double cone of light. The upper mouth is gold. The lower mouth is blue. They meet at one bright point.

The ray had no picture. Here space and time are drawn as one, and the limit becomes a mouth.

Gold is the future this event can still reach. Blue is the past that could have reached it. A second direction of space is what makes the boundary a mouth. The colors are complements, so the two can be told apart. They are a reading, not a property of light. The drawing is a model of signals. It is not yet a claim about a life.

A life, named as a flame

Consciousness should be thought of as a tiny candle in a vast darkness that could easily go out. We should do anything possible to keep that flame alive.
